If the rumors are true he may want to wait 'cause the GF-1 with an accessory finder as good as the G1 finder might just be what he needs. Hell I might even buy one! (Mind you it's just a rumor;) Jim On Fri, Apr 9, 2010 at 11:08 PM, Vince Passaro <passaro.vince at gmail.com> wrote: > Also if Mark's right that Larry (probably sleeping but we need him back in > the thread...) needs a 1.5 sensor then how about that new samsung? > (exchangeable lenses/live view finder). ?there was a thread a few days ago > following the the NY Times review of it. > > And Mark, note that yes in the past he had a IIIc and Rollei 35 and even a > Minox but lately he's been getting along with a Canon point and shoot well > below the level of other cameras we're talking about here. ?He's asking for > advice finding something better than that -- not better than or even equal > to a Leica IIIc. > > On Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 12:00 AM, Mark Rabiner <mark at > rabinergroup.com>wrote: > >> > Vince, >> > >> > I like my G11 a lot, but I almost NEVER use the optical viewfinder. >> > It's squinty and not very clear even with diopter correction and gives >> > you an incredibly poor idea of the actual field of view of the lens. >> > IMHO, it's worthless, except as an emergency finder when bright >> > sunlight or some other factor makes the LCD impossible to use.
