The Leica Users mailing list is intended to be used by people who take photographs with Leica and similar cameras. Most of the members of the list are owners or want-to-be owners of Leica cameras. While it is impossible to draw a firm boundary between camera users and camera collectors, "The LUG", as we call it, is not intended to be a forum for camera collectors. There is no hard distinction between camera collectors and photographers. You have to collect at least one camera in order to photograph things, and there is something about Leica cameras that brings out the "urge to collect" in all of us. We ask that messages about buying and selling cameras be restricted to Friday. If you face ruin or shame from waiting until Friday to announce your desire to buy or sell, no one will punish you, but we would prefer that you mind your manners and limit such postings to Fridays. While all of us recognize that fine rangefinder cameras have been and are made by other companies than Leica, and many of us own Canon, Nikon, or Cosina or Contax rangefinders, the name Leica has stood for excellence in rangefinder cameras for more than half a century. Subscribing to LUG
Subscribe to LUG by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
