Subject: [Leica] *Bay & Paypal

Can you please explain how anyone could "empty my bank account" through
Paypal? My bank details are on file with Paypal because when I sell
something, I transfer the money to my account (I never leave cash
sitting in the Paypal account). When I buy something, the purchases are
funded with my Amex card. The traffic between Paypal and my bank account
is therefore strictly one-way, FROM Paypal TO the bank.

Anyone who has my name and bank account number can only do one thing
with this information: give me money. I realize that things may be
different in the US, where paper checks are still common and where many
people have their Social Security number printed on their checks (or are
asked to write it on the check by the store), but here in NL all
transactions are electronic so nobody ever sees my signature.
