One of the weirdest experiences I had was at a clinic set up by the Cubans in the Mosquito Coast. This is a place that takes three days in a canoe to get to. The doctor had a solar powered television to show propaganda videos from Cuba but he also showed any videos that people brought or donated. The night I was there, the whole community sat on the ground and watched the first Harry Potter movie - translated into Spanish. But these people were Miskito Indians and didn't speak Spanish. They had no idea what was going on but watched the entire movie very intently. The Cuban doctor seemed to be a very caring person but he was very frustrated because he had absolutely no medicines with which to treat the people. Tina Tina Manley www.tinamanley.com
