Hi feli,

the main lens in question in the War Photographer DVD is not a 28-70 or 
24-70 f2.8L.

It is in fact, a 17-35mm f2.8L lens. So he does indeed get very close 
to his subjects, and without a Leica M too, which goes to show 
unobstrusiveness is probably a state of mind :)
