An epilog to this story is that I never upgraded/sidegraded/downgraded to
another digital camera. As I am not a PRO, nor do I need to change away
from Leica due to whatever reasons, the M9 was it. I have an E-3 which I
bought for event photography (e.g. taiko performance) but the M is my love.
It still takes wonderful images, same as the day I bought it.

Of course in the meanwhile, I started shooting 4x5, Hasselblad, 8x10, and
still love the XPan. The M does everything that I don't haul out the big
cameras for.

On Don's point, the 40+ MP, usable ISO of 100,000+ etc. are here. I am sure
that if I were to get an M10M, 10 years afterward, if I am still alive and
my eyes don't fail me etc., I would still be using it
