The CZ article I referenced is meticulous and detailed for laymen and in excellent English for we mono-linguists. Dr Hubert Nasse is apparently the senior scientist at Carl Zeiss Camera Lens Division For anyone interested, you can search for H H Nasse. There is a series in fact in their back catalog of Camera Lens Newsletters. By contrast the interviews etc I have seen from Peter Karbe at Leica Camera (optical designer and head of their optical systems development) reflect a very modest unassuming man who is totally passionate regarding his work. Since he designed my very best M lenses I am prejudiced naturally. Neither is any reflection nor comparison on skills at either manufacturer of course, just an observation on what I have seen from them. I love to learn as much as possible in any area that interests me.
