I use the histograms a lot.....after a few test drives, you get the hang of
their use.  I also use the feature of having the overexposed areas light up
a set unnatural color so that you see the highlight areas.... or
underexposed ones....and them make decisions based upon image content....

However, I do this in my Editing program ( LR or Photoshop Elements).  I use
the in-camera histogram  less frequently unless there is a really hairy
lighting situation.... I like to concentrate on the image, not the
science.....

Jim,
Why don't you look at the histogram and keep adjusting the exposure,
by exposing to the right, i.e. exposing for the highlights.
