Was that the case with your image? Here are the only 3 of my images that I think were worth printing after using HDR: This one was taken pretty high up and from the shade of trees; way to much of an exposure range to capture with a single exposure: http://raflexions.com/Tahoe13th/content/Tahoe_Tahoe_HDR_438H0905_20080813And2more_20080814_large.html This one was taken early morning where the sky was beginning to be lit from behind me, but the foreground pond and trees were still very much in the shadows: http://raflexions.com/Maui2/content/L1002986_7_8_tonemapped_large.html Finally, this was deep in the redwoods with the trees in the distance in full sun (you can see the guy (red hat, blue jeans) walking to the tree and behind the tree from the 2 separate frames): http://raflexions.com/Maui2/content/L1002986_7_8_tonemapped_large.html The last one was on 6x6; last time I'll do that as it took forever to align the scans. At any rate, I prefer to use this technique to try to achieve a realistic image from a scene that my camera can't entirely record. Others are using it for more "artistic" reasons which I don't aspire too. Different strokes for different folks :-) Keep having fun! Yes, I have always been a frustrated artist ;-) The HDR stuff is all the rage for stock right now so I'm playing with it. It won't ever take the place of real photography, but maybe I can sell a few if I get the software figured out. Tina _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
