I doubt that the M8 will be working either, but the Nikon F series would be - I have Nikon bodies that are 35 years old where everything works. This is not a discussion on the film line, but digital. The M series film camera bodies, being largely mechanical, would be easy to repair even if Leica went under, not so the digital ones.
