I remember traipsing across campus in winter 1967-68 in the snow to see Ravi Shankar and Alla Rakha and Ali Akbar Khan play in a 500-seat hall. It was the same time I was buying my first jazz albums: Miles Smiles, A Love Supreme, and Forest Flower.
