Hi Hoppy, I've missed your previous messages concsrning and concedrned for the 135. I own the Apo-Tely 3,4/135, this one is a really Outstanding lens, but I use it very few for my work, maybe because on a M is not a very comfortable lens, but when I use it I as me why I don't use it more usually. Good luck bidding! Thanks Jerry. That one has more hits than almost anything in my galleries for some reason. Also a rarity that my wife consented to posing for it, albeit briefly. "Please look up while you walk in your garden". I guess more separation from the subject is less of an imposition for the camera shy, too. Not great processing by me for the BW but I'm getting more refined there. I might repost it de-spotted some. Now I'm bidding on one of the APO-Telyts here in Aus. Like I need another 135... I don't have any experience with the f2.8. Cheers Hoppy -----Original Message----- To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] optical difference between the tele elmar 135mm? Hoppy, Really great tightly framed portrait! I have alway been an enthusiast for the 135mm length lens, having use it on my Leicas for sports car racing shots, as well as for babies or pets where it would be intimidating to be too close. The latest LHSA magazine touts the virtue of the f2.8 135mm Elmarit with "eyes", but says that hey are "a hot commodity, but try finding one" I dinna know they were rare or expensive. Are they? I have this one (the > Tele) and also the earlier Elmar which does still does really well but is a little behind in contrast, I think. Buy the Tele, take a couple of steps back and make some wonderful tightly framed portraits. > <http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/a/F2/portrait.jpg.html> > Really easy to use on the M3 with its higher magnification viewfinder too. > > Cheers > Hoppy > > -----Original Message----- > Subject: [Leica] optical difference between the tele elmar 135mm? > > Hello > > Is there any optical difference between versions of the tele elmar 135mm? > > Thanks! > > > _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
