Good morning Philip,
Really? Then I'm not sure what those cameras were around my neck, off my
shoulders and in my hands as I did my assignments day after day for over 50
years about the world. :-)

If you'd care to have a look at some of that work " tedgrantphoto.com " as
it's all 35mm Leica M and R cameras! Every single one! Oh yes and they did
put bread on the table and more.;-)

But good sir you are referring to the world of news photographers of the
day! Sort of like "oh you mean the machine gun alley guys and gals." ;-)
tripping digital like popcorn knowing all they have to do is fix it in
PhotoShop! ;-)

Before anyone gets wet knickers let me clarify....... "NOT ALL OF THEM!" I
have to disclaimer that because there's a bunch of much younger lads who are
my very good friends who'd keel haul me if I were referring to them as
"machine gun shooters!" :-)

However these days it's becoming the norm to blast away because you don't
have to develop film! Which of course many of the news photographers of this
day " have no idea how to do that!" They only know digital, auto everything
cameras and just point and shoot!! NOT ALL OF THEM! ;-)

And yes some of the wire service lads of today still carry an M camera of
some kind just for those moments when "quiet" is the in shoot word of the
day. And yes they are waiting for the M8 so everything they carry will be
digital. A few who carry the Epson digi whatever can't wait to get the M8 in
their bag.

They may not be using all Leica, but beneath it, it's possible to find one
with the real photojournalists transmitting his Leica images about the
world!
