Victor, I would endorse Doug's comments regarding the ease of fitting the
kit. That is providing you can obtain the right one (and
Doug has suggested a source). However, you may like to consider checking the
Bay for prices on an AI equivalent of your current lens
as well. At least in Australia, the manual focus prime Nikkors are often
extremely inexpensive now. This would also preserve your
current lens unaltered for use with your F2. A modified one will still work,
of course, just that the modification is an aesthetic
change to the old lens. If you are not sure whether your current lens is an
AI version, or has been modified to that standard, I'd
be happy to assist. It's simple to identify.

Cheers
Hoppy

www.pacificrimcamera.com has several NOS AI-conversion kits, including
for the 135 f/2. The conversion is really simple: remove screws to
remove bayonet flange, pull non-AI aperture ring off, put AI aperture
ring on, replace bayonet flange. Even I can do it. The hardest part
of the job is loosening the flange screws.
