It's a solution that would keep a whole lot of existing cameras clicking, not that that's really Leica's concern. But considering Leica's precarious financial status, it seems to me that selling a bunch of replaceable/upgradeable $2,000 to $3,000 digital M modules makes more sense than trying to sell a $5,000 digital rangefinder camera body that verges on obsolete on release. Granted there are Leica users here and elsewhere who will buy a digital M sight unseen as soon as it's available. But how many? Two thousand?
