OK, I know this was beaten to death a few years ago, but seeing how
digital technology keeps advancing, I felt like dropping this query
into the mix once again. Since digital camera circuitry keeps getting
smaller and smaller (and so do the digicams), why can't Leica put a
sensor on a replaceable M back flap, put the related circuitry,
batteries, etc. up the film column and in a base about the size of a
Leicavit, and, boom, modular, upgradeable digital M (ala DMR)?

I'd willingly forego a chimp screen for such a tool.

Stupidly,
