I can't recall the web site, but a fellow did some very nice tests using a point light source against a dark background to evaluate the "value" of using different tripods. Results were quite surprising. I think I've isolated a few Bogen models to evaluate - the 190MF3 and 190MF4. Both CF tripods of similar designs, but with one having 3 leg extensions and the other 4 (slightly shorter folded up). Prices are certainly right - around $275 or so for either give or take. Hmmmm. I'm starting to fantasize about taking a nice little, light weight tripod out of a knapsack, flipping it quickly to full extension (neither is all that tall), clipping on my M6TTL and conveniently shooting some nice Delta 100 or the slower Efke films in less than bright light.
