Luis,
Yes, I use 35mm film.  In this case Fuji Acros in Xtol 1:3.  Currently
I am using a by now obsolete Kodak 3600 Scanner: obsolete in the sense
that it only scans at 3600 dpi and its density range was only claimed
to be 3.2 or 3.4.

As to the scanners you mentioned, the Minolta will give you a better
image both in resolution and in density range.  What the Nikon offers
is two to three years of service with no real problems in build
quality or software glitches.  The Minolta needed a version II rather
quickly as the build quality of some of the components and the
software was not what it should have been.  I have looked at the
version II machine and most/all of the initial concerns seem to have
been addressed.

So, it comes down to the new kid on the block or the proven time
tested device.  Of course the Minolta is about half the price of the
NIkon...
