Sigh, the studded tires also weigh a TON. I have Chris King hubs, DB 
spokes, aluminium nipples and the lightest Mavic rims. The studded 
tires weigh more than the wheels. The tears are trickling down my 
cheeks as I mount them in the fall.

Nasty things leaves...
