That caf? south of Wick is slack, they don't open until 4th April ;-) We
will be here, or could meet you half-way in Sutherland....

A LUG meetup in Caithness! What an excellent idea, John.

Now if only we two could come up with a suitable venue. Good views, good
food, not too far from the main road....

Any thoughts?

As if I don't know the answer!

Indeed, this area and the Caithness flag
(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Flag_of_Caithness.svg)
have far more Norse heritage than Gaelic.

One day, the two of us should meet up Piers.....

Agreed, Don, but the pace names where John lives give clear evidence that
your arrival by longboat would not be the first!

Lybster, Ulbster, Camster are certainly not Scots in origin, nor Gaelic.
Just insert an 'e' to make ....seter and you have clear Norse names. And
about ten miles away is Wick, or Vik as it undoubtedly once was. And a
little further south, around me, there are numerous ....dal place names, as
well as Dingwall, otherwise Thingvollr.

But I will keep a lookout for the second coming!
