To give the flip side, I purchased my D800E here in India in May last year
for Rs.145000, and now it costs Rs.185000 - a difference of Rs.40,000 which
is roughly USD730, which is what I have gained in 7-8 months. I have been
pissed off with Adobe many times for announcing a new iteration of CS a
short period after I upgraded, but I need Photoshop more than Adobe needs
me, and that realization makes me behave more rationally. These things
happen, and a rebate or upgrade has to start on some date, and any buyer
who has just bought it outside the qualifying period is going to feel
upset, but I doubt, in general, that it is in the buyer's long term
interest to act on the initial feeling of pique.
Cheers
Jayanand
