I think another trick to using CN is to overexpose it some.  Underexposure
may account for some of the flatness you see in those scans.

Again, check with the lab to see if their scanning machine has a channel
for CN.  It is not the same channel as Ilford's XP2, since Kodak has the
orange mask and XP2 does not.

You might want to give XP2 a try while you are playing, because it is a
pretty nice film too.
