Mark... the sheer number of Pentax 6x7 cameras out there is pretty amazing.
It was cheap ( and especially cheaper than a Hassy.  The alternative was a
used Rolleiflex  or Mamiya TLR, which still were more money), had good
optics, and overall was pretty reliable and intuitive to the 35mm shooter.  

The S2 should be so lucky to sell the same quantities......

I think in a couple of years we'll see the S2 making more of a dent into
serious landscape work than the Pentax 6x7 did. Despite the cost. And many
people got into the Pentax because it was really amazingly low cost.
