Subject: [Leica] DOF of 80/1.4 at 1.4 slimmer than 50mm at 1.4?

recently I grabbed the 'black' M8 and 75 lux for a trip to Port Fairy. I
forgot it did not focus all that well: needs adjustment. So I was shooting
the artists slowly changing the focus from the rangefinder suggestion to a
bit closer bit by bit, taking shots with each 'guesstimate' Missed a lot
of good shots, but got others ;-)

I don't have an issue when the rangefinder is 'tuned' to the lens.
