Yeah, Snow Leopard is an all-around win.  Faster *and* smaller.

Unless he has a PowerPC machine.  Trying to remember if any versions
of Lightroom used to run on PowerPC.

But keeping a PowerPC machine going in this day and age, especially
for something as CPU-intensive as photo editing, seems a huge exercise
in frustration.  I suspect that even the new little Mac Mini, which is
tiny, quiet, and dissipates about as much power as rubbing your hands
together, is faster (except for the disk subsystem) than even the
giantest G5.  And the power consumption difference is epic.
