After all, I was educated as an economist, and we are a cynical lot :-) I do dislike Adobe's upgrade policies, but I do very much like Lightroom. I will upgrade to LR3 once the kinks have been ironed out--Adobe notoriously brings out buggy software. I have no idea what RAW synchronization is, but like Bob, I am a VERY occasional user of Photoshop (as in once every 3 months maybe), so upgrading it seems a waste of money. Cheers, Nathan (off for a walk in the streets of Edinburgh, perhaps to visit Adam Smith's grave :-)) On 17 Jun, 2010, at 6:17 , Geoff Hopkinson wrote: > Ever the cynic, Nathan ;-) > Well, installing LR3 over CS3 should allow an LR3 preference setting for > whichever Ps version you have as the default external editor for PSD and > you > have an option for a second (different if wanted) External editor for TIFF. > That one can be set manually to any Ps version you have also. > > Of course you will REALLY want the new CS5 tools and Raw synchronisation as > well eventually but then I'll be labelled the Adobe rep as well as the > Leica > rep here ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) > > Cheers > Geoff > http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman > > NO ARCHIVE > > > On 17 June 2010 14:53, Nathan Wajsman <photo at frozenlight.eu> wrote: > >> Bob, of course Adobe wants you to upgrade to PS5--but not to worry, the >> worst thing that can happen is that the "Edit in Photoshop" function in LR >> will not function correctly.
