[Leica] Question 2 this evening: historical prices

If the orig company sold the title to another publishing operation they
might have -- likely would have -- sold the rights to past issues as well,
since the new owner is after all buying a title and the public goodwill
associated with it. Easiest way to pursue is to contact the current
magazine's "rights" department or "subsidiary rights" department (that's
what we'd call them in the US anyway). They'll know or be able to find out
who could give you permission.

The only problem that easily could arise is that you are possibly planning
to scan and post that many issues -- when you do, you'll be creating a
database of material that itself would have a new material value as internet
content (on which the current mag or other copyright holder could sell ads,
for instance, if they eventually post it themselves...) -- this is a lot
different to them than if you were just asking to post three issues of the
magazine or some similar amount.
