Subject: [Leica] Any S2 experiences?

By coincidence I just today saw one for the first time. It's BIG as
life, understandable when you consider the sensor size. It was much
lighter than I expected--seemed a lot lighter than, say, a 500
Hasselblad. Auto-focus was very swift (though I am not one to judge,
never having owned an autofocus SLR). The store had a portfolio of
2-foot prints which were astounding.

I was there with my brother-in-law who was looking for a
smaller-than-dslr quality camera. Partially based on the buzz from the
LUG, I suggested we look at the u4/3 cameras from Panasonic and
Olympus. He ended up walking out with the GF1. We also looked at the
7-14 Panasonic lens which is a real gem.

While I'm not a fan of the retro aesthetics of the Olympus u4/3 cameras,
the EFV on the E-P2 really blows away the corresponding Panasonic unit.

If there is a common theme in S2s and u4/3, it's that you can't beat
squares (square inches).
