I'm assigned to chronicle a photographer and feature their work and a biography for one of my classes. I've read much about him here, photo.net and also at school. I joined the LUG in early 2005 but heard of Sal's passing in 2004 from friends in California and then from Kyle Cassidy, then Jim Shulman, then others. Sal is "the Leica photographer" that walked through Temple's Annenberg Hall always with his Leica on him. Several of my professors worked with him and considered him a good friend. In an effort to write and compile as accurate a profile as possible, I'm hoping that I can engage in a few conversations with fellow LUG members about Sal. If anyone has anything they would like to say about the man, I would love to speak with you about it. Reply off list if you would like to speak with me on the phone. As I know he was a loved member of the LUG I apologize if I'm bringing up this topic and causing grief. I have only the sincerest motive to compile a report and small portfolio which does the most credit to him that I can. Regards, Phil Forrest
