At least it is the kind of reason that you not argue with.

But real computer geeks would find a way to compress existing code and make
space for new code, like the lens picking menu.....

Maybe someday......

BTW, I did download the M8 Firmware update and opened it to look inside.....
shame I can not program......

I got this last year when talking to a technician; there is 
apparently not that much data capacity in the firmware area of the 
M8. How true this is I have no way of knowing, but it makes sense 
AFAIK.
