also fyi,  now built into the Mac OSX, you can boot directly from the  
program install DVD...

go to utilities on the DVD, and use Restore from Time Machine backup,  
and so restore your HD,

reflecting if you wish, the contents of the drive from earlier that  
day, yesterday, earlier...
