I have a "smallish" pack called a Vertex made by One planet. I used it in Nepal. FANTASTIC back pack not designed for cameras of course. I put all the gear in to separate coloured wetbags, lined with rubber. They are then packed into the pack, and can be found by colour: eg Xpan might have been Red. 90mm Xpan lens green M6 Yellow etc. worked perfectly. If you are just transporting gear then the lowe pro packs are great. The waterproof one I have is waterproof, but a "bugger" to use and I'm glad I got it cheap. The mini treker has served very well for a long time, but you get a very sweaty back. Date: Wed, 14 Jan 2009 18:46:33 -0800 To be honest, this is all BS. You need a bag that FITS YOUR FRAME. Not a bag that is geared toward your equipment load as a maximum. Get a bag that fits you. Put in it what you need Then fill it with whatever foam/fluff that you need to fill it up so you are comfortable with the packing. You will find the bag will be pretty large.... larger than you think..... It should have a sternum ( chest) strap, good padded hip ( not waist) belt support, superb shoulder harness, and be comfortable. Go to a GOOD sporting goods store and tell them you want a backpacking pack.....but for cameras. With luck, you will get what you need.
