The provided code (from an L Camera Forum member) was just for experimenting with temporary coding if desired. I don't have the Summilux 35 ASPH. I opted for the Summicron, partly to avoid the known 'focus shift' effect on the M8 from the other lens. Actually right now it is the only non-coded lens I have, since my 28 returned from a holiday to Solms. I haven't noted any problems using it with the UV/IR and detection ON or OFF so far. Cheers Geoff http://www.pbase.com/hoppyman/e http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/gh/ Pick up your camera and make the best photo you can. -----Original Message----- Subject: RE: [Leica] M8 question #2: Barcoding lenses Yes, makes sense.. must go look.... OTOH, I guess it must have a removable mount, otherwise how would the lens go together? I am getting closer to that M8, now that the used prices have "started" to drop..... Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net The only lenses that Leica can code are those where the mounting plate can be removed and replaced. Check the mount on your Lux. If there are no screws in the mounting plate it can't be coded bu Leica. _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
