The "issue" could just be that have have to be very, very careful after focusing and then reframing the shot. The rangefinder patch is in the middle and when you recompose, it's fairly easy to move a bit and lose focus, particularly at f1.5 and close range. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. The shots have so much more going for them that it didn't really make an impression on me (the focus) until I went back and re-read your letter. It looks like you're on pretty steady ground. I'd keep that body and that lens and just forget about anything else and keep shooting. Looks real nice.
