Len.. I do understand your overall position......
However, no matter how you look at it, you could just allow for vignetting
and then, at home, go back and crop out the corners. No dual-format
required.
I guess your main point is that if you have a bunch of images to do, it
saves work to allow the camera to do this for you. I guess I would have to
admit that as an advantage.....

The 1.5x crop with these
two lenses is the only practical solution if you have a large number
of photos to process.
