Admittedly, Gould was fantastic in his own way - But Austria had a piano
genius (IMO) too.
One of the best Mozart pianists was, again  IMO, Friedrich Gulda, an
amazingly delicate touch combined with immense power - one of the best jazz
pianists too, and absolutely amazing at the Munich Piano Summer concert I
saw in 1982 ( he played some marvellous duets with Chick Corea).
Quite an enfant terrible of the concert stage and did a lot to break down
the barriers between so called "serious" (classical) and "trivial" 
(pop, rock and jazz) music.
