Hope all this sailing stuff isn't boring you.

The best time to get exciting shots of a race is right before and at
the start. Unfortunately, when you're on the race committee you're
busy keeping time, raising flags, and looking for boats over early so
photography is out of the question.

I did get these two right after the start of one race about a month
ago. These are Cape Cod Knockabouts (CCK) racing on Buzzards Bay.

A close crossing - the boat didn't make it.

Can we clear the Committee Boat?

And, further down the course, a close crossing to windward.
