The best time to get exciting shots of a race is right before and at the start. Unfortunately, when you're on the race committee you're busy keeping time, raising flags, and looking for boats over early so photography is out of the question. I did get these two right after the start of one race about a month ago. These are Cape Cod Knockabouts (CCK) racing on Buzzards Bay. A close crossing - the boat didn't make it. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/rtaylor/PICKS/SAILING/IMGP7108.jpg.html http://tinyurl.com/24xp6s Can we clear the Committee Boat? http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/rtaylor/PICKS/SAILING/IMGP7099.jpg.html http://tinyurl.com/yucuk4 And, further down the course, a close crossing to windward. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/rtaylor/PICKS/SAILING/IMGP7122.jpg.html http://tinyurl.com/2bafvs All K10D ISO 400 f5.6@ about 1/2000th. VR off. Comments are highly desired. Regards, Dick _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
