Makes you think twice. The D vario is 14 - 50 , which makes it 28 in 35mm format so an 18 mm wouldn't help much in that respect. I carried my R8 along the L1 this summer, simply because I knew I'd need the 24mm for architecture ... The slides are Wow, well, some of them. In short, anything under 10mm would do for me (factor is 2) , but as another Lugger told me; each extra mm between 10 and 14 would be very, very expensive mtric or not..
