1. If you want accurate focal length detection with the WATE you must
set Lens Detection + IR filter on.
Then every time you turn on the camera you get a pop-up menu to
choose 16, 18 or 21 mm.
And if you don't have a filter installed you will get Magenta
corners.
2. If you just turn on lens detection, EXIF data will only say you
have an 18mm lens. It would be better to have a lens detection + no
filter choice.
3. When using the WATE and a filter, you can't use a hood unless you
rig something yourself. Of course I don't know how useful the
supplied hood is anyway.
