I have the Summicron 40mm (since I have a CL), and in the past I have owned the 35mm (last non-ASPH version), as well as the 35mm ASPH Summicron. The 40mm is not bad, but unless you have a CL, I don't see any reason to prefer it to a 35mm. And you get the correct framelines with the 35.
