He is also peerless in playing with musicians of other cultures - try out
his albums with Vishwa Mohan Bhatt from India (A Meeting by the River),
which won a Grammy in the World Music Category and Ali Farka Toure of Mali
(Talking Timbuktu). Also his early albums (esp. "Paradise and
Lunch","Boomers Story" and "Into the Purple Valley" encompass 100 years of
American music in a way that no one else has managed. All with guitar
playing (both regular and slide) of genius....
