I could not disagree with you more. I have been using a Canon EOS1Ds  
Mk2 and I am delighted that the M8 has appeared.It is, for me, a big  
improvement over the Canon. I -much- prefer rangefinders over SLRs  
and apart from Macro and wildlife will be happy to leave the EOS bulk  
at home. The mid range SLRs are nowhere near as well made as I  
understand the M8 to be, nor are likely to produce such good results,  
not least because of the lenses.
Maybe for some SLRs have a level of flexibility they need but  
personally I don't like them as much.
