For example, in the U.S., the NFL owns all rights to their events unless specifically granted to someone else. So, the press can use their images for the newspaper but the photographer can't go out and sell posters without a specific grant. In England the rules will be different so check with the organiser and the fine print on your pass. As to participants, no, they are public performers and in the public domain. As to the audience, if used for other than editorial or "fine art" purposes then a model release is in order.
