Okay, so going off topic, but please describe what "southern fried
steak" is.

I've had southern fried chicken (or what claims to be) in Canada.  I've
never heard of southern fried steak.

And, there was a hotel in downtown Mobile (Grey's? Gray's?) with one  
of the greatest restaurants ever.  Their southern fried steak with  
mashed potatoes was out of this world.
