I thought about making the first one in B&W but decided to keep the colour for one practical and one "deeper" reason. The practical reason was that I knew the other 3 images had to be in colour, so I wanted to preserve some sense of unity. The other reason is that while this is a cemetery and as such a place of somber reflection, it is also a monument to the good life that the sacrifice of these men made possible for us who are here now. I don't know if it makes sense, but for this reason I did not feel the strong need to make the image grey.
