Hi Daniel,

Having visited Warsaw in 2003 and Krak?w last year, I concur with
Peter--Warsaw is just a big town, but not that much to see for a
visitor. Certainly not in the same league as Krak?w. When I went there I
stayed in a Holiday Inn--I am not that adventureous with hotels, I like
to know exactly what I am getting.

You may also go to Czestochowa, 70 km away (buses from Krak?w), Poland's
holiest shrine. You will get a good idea of the wealth and influence of
the Catholic church there.

You may want to check out flights if you do not feel like spending 24
hours on trains--there are several low-cost airlines that fly into
Krak?w and other Polish cities these days. But if you do travel by land,
then a visit to the northern coast of Germany or Poland is worth the
trouble--L?beck is an extremely lovely town.
