It has long been a rule in the US military than a soldier cannot carry a
camera into a combat zone. This was true in the trenches of World War I;
it is true today in Iraq. There have never been any exceptions to this rule.
However, many soldiers have gotten away with this, as witness the Abu
Ghraib shots. It is a matter of command interest and emphasis, and not all
commanders are as involved as are others.
