BD.  I agree about the sensor size, but I'm not convinced that noise
is the only problem.  I used the LC-1 at 100ASA (its lowest setting)
and the uniform colour areas in the pictures were always
mosaic-patterned when the same areas on the 20D shots were uniformly
smooth.  I think this is either caused by the differences between the
CCD and CMOS sensors, or the in-camera image processing software, or
most probably both.  I haven't been able to compare with a Digilux 2
to see if its software does a better job.

The CCD in the LC1/digilux 2 is relatively large compared with most
digital P&S's although I accept it's still a lot smaller than the
20D's.
