Because if it really makes sense, Leica's unlikely to do it. Were that not true, they would have kept the M5 alive and pushed it with good marketing, and they would have kept a CL-like camera in the line. But they didn't have the imagination to do either, and instead deep-sixed both, and returned to the M3 -uh, sorry, M4, ;-), finally putting a meter in it again in, what, 1984? -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Mark Rabiner Sent: Monday, March 14, 2005 7:27 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] looking at Pentax *ist D On 3/13/05 4:59 PM, "B. Maitani with his Olympus OM1 took 33% off the weight and bulk of the 35mm SLR camera industry as the were all caught with their pants down and had to follow suit or look like idiots and go out of business. By the way I just checked the dates to find out the relationship between the CL and OM1.
